Flame Tests Spectrums

Using the Ad Hoc Spectroscope, we obtain the spectrums for flame tests of various metal ions.

With the Spectroscope with Video Camera, we can take a video while concentrating on the flame test. Then we can review the Video and observer the spectrum for the specific flame test for the metal ion. From the video we can take a snapshot of the spectrum.

Note for the flame tests a Platinum wire was used. We used a straight wire so that we can uniquely show the spectrum against the full color spectrum of the heated Platinum wire. See this link for a discussion on using Platinum Wire for flame tests.
