Diffraction Grating Experiment With Hydrogen Source

With 1000 lines/mm Diffraction Grating

For the Diffraction Grating, 1000 lines/mm see Home Science Tool.

In this experiment we demonstrate that a Diffraction Grating can create a spectrum from a source such as a Spectrum Tube. By using a Spectrum Tube Power Supply and a Spectrum Tube for Hydrogen we obtain clear spectral lines. The experiment also shows the geometry with an iPhone taking the photo. Also see the experiment on using Lasers with a Diffraction Grating and the mathematical theory and physics behind obtaining the spectral lines.
